To enable visitors with impaired mobility to get around town, there are electric scooters and manual wheelchairs for hire, based in George Yard Shopping Centre.

Whether you have a broken ankle or just need a little extra help with mobility, the scooters are normally pre-booked by telephone (with a free lesson at the beginning if needed). Whilst proof of identity is required for first time users, anybody can use a scooter or wheelchair for a minimal cost (£1) anywhere in town. The scooters can be picked up at the George Yard car park and even brought direct to the Shopmobility parking bay.
